Who we are
Crowdepth is run by Altura Media LLC. Contact: admin@alturaadmin.com, or by post: [P.O. box to be opened].
What we collect
- Your email, the name you choose to show, and your birth month and year (to check your age: 13+ to join, 18+ to upload or comment).
- Your Instagram handle and your phone number, if you give them.
- Which artists you follow, which links you came in through, and what you watch, like and comment on, so artists can see how their shows went.
- Which concerts we count you as there for, and how: the code in the room, a proof photo the artist's team approved, or a video or photo of yours the team approved for that show.
- Your points: one number worked out from those concerts, your approved clips, your comments and how long you've followed each artist.
- A proof photo, if you send one: your ticket, or a photo of you at the show (see “Proof that you were there”).
- Your photos and videos, and what's inside the files: when they were taken, the device, and sometimes location.
- Which shows you uploaded to, which boxes you ticked, and when.
- Your network address and browser, for security and to stop spam.
- If you're on an artist's team: the questions you send us from the dashboard's “How it works”, with the page you were on. Only Crowdepth's own staff read them, and they're deleted when you delete your account.
We don't put ad trackers on Crowdepth. An artist's videos come from YouTube, which has its own (see “Videos from YouTube”). We never use face recognition, and we never text you.
Why
To run Crowdepth, keep it safe, show the artist how their shows went, and email you if you said yes.
Who we share it with
- An artist gets your name and email only if you tick “Share my name and email” for that artist, and your phone number only if you tick “Share my phone number”. You can switch either off in Settings; their own privacy policy covers the copy they already have.
- An artist's team sees the points of the fans who shared their name with them, counted for that artist alone: how many of their concerts you were at, your approved clips, your comments and how long you've followed them.
- YouTube, when you look at or play an artist's videos (see “Videos from YouTube”).
- Companies that run parts of Crowdepth for us (storage, email, safety checks).
- The police or courts, when the law requires it.
What other people see
Uploads the team approves, with your name, and which show they're from, shown to anyone signed in to Crowdepth. Your comments, with your name, the same way. Your email and phone are never shown. Location is removed from anything we show. An artist's own posts are shown to anyone signed in too, for now; we may go back to showing them only to the fans counted as there for that concert. A banner goes wherever you choose to post it.
Your profile
Your profile is made from what you do on Crowdepth. You don't write it and you can't edit it. It shows your name, your points, the concerts you were at (your gold badges), your approved clips, your published comments and the artists you follow.
Anyone signed in to Crowdepth can open it, artists' teams included, and your name on a clip or a comment is a link to it. It never shows your email, your phone, your birth date, a proof photo, or anything that's waiting for review, hidden or taken down.
To hide it, switch off “Show my profile to other fans” in Settings. It's gone for everyone else at once and your name stops being a link; you still see it yourself. Your approved clips and comments stay where they are, under your name. Fans 13 to 17 have no profile that other people can see, and a deleted account has none.
Videos from YouTube
An artist's page can show the artist's own videos. Each one is a still picture until you press play. The picture comes from YouTube's image server, which sees your network address and browser, as any picture on the web does. YouTube's player loads only when you press play, on that one video; from then on YouTube gets what it gets from any video played on another site (your network address, your device and browser, what you watch, and its own cookies or storage), under Google's privacy policy, not this one. We record that you pressed play, so the artist can see which videos get watched.
An artist's link page
An artist can switch on a public page with their picture, name, a line about them and their links. Anyone can open it, with no account. It shows nothing about fans and loads nothing from other companies. When a link is pressed, there or on the artist's page, we count the press, not who pressed it.
Proof that you were there
This step is switched off for now. While it's off we don't ask for a proof photo: when an artist's team approves a video or photo you sent for a show, we count you as there for that concert. If that clip is later taken down because it wasn't from that show or wasn't yours, and no other approved clip of yours is left on that concert, we stop counting you as there.
When the step is on: if you came in through an artist's bio or story and say you were at a show, you can send a photo of your ticket or of you at the show. Only the people who check it see it, with your name: that artist's review team (its owners, managers and moderators) and Crowdepth's own staff. Never other fans, never the public, and it's never shown on Crowdepth. A person looks at it; nothing reads your face or your ticket automatically. It's deleted as soon as they approve or deny it, when you leave that artist or delete your account, and after 30 days if nobody has decided, unless the law requires us to keep it. We keep only the result: that you were verified for that concert, or weren't. We don't use it for anything else.
Your choices
Change what each artist gets, leave an artist, or delete your account any time in Settings. You can also ask us to delete an upload, send you a copy of your data, or stop emails. Unsubscribe links are in every email. We answer within 30 days.
Removal requests and copyright notices
If you use our removal form or copyright form, we keep your name, email, what you wrote, your network address and, for copyright, your postal address and phone. Our staff and the artist's team read the request to decide it; they see your address and phone only as “on file”. We never tell the person who posted the clip who asked. One exception, set by law: a copyright counter-notice, with its sender's name, address and phone, goes to the person who sent the copyright notice.
How long we keep things
- Uploads that are never approved: 30 days. Files you picked but never sent the form for: 24 hours.
- Proof photos: until the artist's team decides, and 30 days at most.
- The concerts we count you as there for, and your points: as long as your account.
- Approved clips: while the artist's page exists, or until you ask us to remove them.
- Network addresses: 90 days.
- The record of what you agreed to: as long as your account, plus 5 years.
- Removal requests, copyright notices and what we decided: 3 years.
Ages
Accounts are for people 13 and older; uploading, commenting and sending a proof photo are 18+. Fans 13 to 17 can watch and like, and the code in the room still verifies them. Their name, email and phone are never shared with an artist, they never appear by name in an artist's fan list or points, and they have no profile that other people can see. We don't knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13; if we learn we have, we delete it.
Security
Files are kept private until approved, proof photos stay private always, and team logins are protected. If a breach affects you, we'll tell you.
Do Not Track
We don't track you across other sites, so there's nothing to switch off.
Your state's rights
If you live in California or another state with a privacy law, you have the rights above and can use them the same way.
Changes
